Peoria back tries to give ASU fans happy holiday
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Arizona State junior Keegan Herring and the rest of the Sun Devils football team will take on Texas Dec. 27 in the Holiday Bowl.
Herring, the Sun Devils (10-2) leading rusher with 856 yards on 152 attempts (5.4 yards per attempt), is a 2005 graduate of Peoria High School.
As a junior at Peoria Herring rushed for 1,712 yards and 29 touchdowns for a Panthers squad which advanced to the state semifinals. After playing as a change of pace back to Ryan Torain in the season’s early going Herring has taken on more of the load since Torain suffered a season-ending foot injury.
The Devils close the season in San Diego in a game set to start at 5 p.m. on ESPN against the 9-3 Longhorns.
