Schlink commits to ASU
Centennial senior offensive lineman Zach Schlink has verbally committed to continue his football career at Arizona State University next year.
Approximately a week after teammate Jarrell Barbour verbally committed to the University of Arizona the Coyotes 6-foot-4, 311 pound guard/tackle made it another West Valley athlete that will be representing the region in the Pac-10 joining fellow Coyotes Mikal Brewer of Stanford and Terry Longbons of the Wildcats.
Schlink, Barbour and the rest of the defending 5A Div-II state champion Coyotes open their season Aug. 31 when they travel to Desert Ridge.
The high school football season kicks off with a limited slate tonight before the rest of the state begins next week.
